TLS Frankfurt is committed to using the fundamentals of theatre as a means of educating people in a variety of fields. The techniques learned in the theater are the ones of good communicators, and can be helpful to people in all walks of life. Classes are offered to people of any age, and language learning levels, from novice to native speaker.
TLS offers improvisational theatre for actors and non-actors who want to free their creativity, learn better communication skills, and have a bit of fun by learning to take risks in a fun and supportive environment. There are exercises to build imagination and creativity, with a special focus on enhancing students’ oral and listening skills by encouraging them to experiment with language in different roles and dramatic contexts.

Performing is something that almost every young person enjoys. As well as providing a safe training environment under the guidance of experienced staff, we also provide another vital ingredient in our workshops. We make learning English fun!

Many if not most teachers who teach language already use some form of drama in their classrooms. Our interactive workshops widen the breadth of techniques that the language teacher uses currently and add some fresh tactics for teachers to use when seeking to promote students’ organic use of language. Drama techniques are essential in getting students to experiment with language and help in creating an emotional connection with text. Additionally correct use of the voice is an essential actor’s tool, but no less so for the teacher; vocal health is addressed for teachers to work on their long-term vocal needs. Workshops can be tailored for all ages and levels of students, from children to adults.
