TLS put out a call for original scripts based on the the Grimm fairy tales, ultimately choosing a one-act piece by Lonnie Bradley. The play was so delightful that TLS worked with Lonnie in development for over a year to expand it to a two-act play that told the true story of the young Grimm brothers, whose personal tragedy affected all the tales they wrote. A Grimm Tale wove their personal stories and their imaginative fictitious tales into a delightful quilt. A Grimm Tale also featured TLS’s first time using shadow puppetry. Designed and created by hand by TLS member Susanne Koenig, the actors told the tale as it unfolded on the shadow screen, creating stunning visuals and enhancing the storytelling even further.
