Narrative Improvisation

Loading Events

Narrative Improvisation is a four-week course, focusing on narrative, including storytelling skills, narrative structures and long-form scenes. This class is for different types of students: experienced improvisers who want to improve their narrative skills, actors who want to strengthen their character work, writers and directors who want to explore narrative spontaneously on their feet, and non-actors who love improv and want a place where they can be creative that is safe and nonjudgmental. Using Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey as our guide, we explore how to connect scenes into one long story by building trust and group mind skills. It is suitable for people who have done some improvisation work previously.
