Improv Jam: Long Form Face-off – Monologue Deconstruction
We are changing up our monthly jam to introduce a bit of friendly competition. Many may enter, but only a few will leave… Laughing!
Every other month we invite our improvisation friends of all levels to join us as we split into teams for a Short Form Showdown or Long Form Face-off. This month is our Long form face-off jams where two teams will perform the same long form format, friendly competition style. Some guidance will be given for improvisers who are new to longform! Audience members are allowed for these special jams. Still free, only more fun!
Monologue Deconstruction – About the format:
A monologist (guest monologue giver) or a player from the backline steps forth and gives a 1-2 minute truthful monologue about his/her life inspired by a one-word audience suggestion. From that truthful monologue, the improvisers do a series of scenes exploring different details, characters, and situations that were brought up in the monologue.
