The Dangerous Play ensemble improvises plays based on the works of famous playwrights. This time round the actors will instantly create a new play inspired by the Pulitzer-prize winning playwright Neil Simon’s oeuvre of works. Developing a rich narrative and unique characters that call back to some of Simon’s best known plays like The Odd Couple, Lost in Yonkers and the Brighton Beach Memoirs trilogy, the actors improvise a full play before the eyes of the audience. Known as one of Broadway’s most prolific playwrights, Simon’s work showcases his talent in walking the fine line between humor and sadness in the lives of everyday people, often bringing a deeper insight with his wit and comic timing. The actors play dangerously, without the safety of a script, taking only the suggestion for a title of a yet unseen play, a new work that opens and closes all in one night.
